Everything I talked about will have links in the end so make sure to check those out if you’re interested. So the first item I want to tell you guys is the microphone that I’m using and this is thePowerDeWise Lavalier Microphone. It only only costs $23 and I think it’s a great product for anybody looking for an introductory microphone or just a budget lavaliere mic. What’s really cool about this mic is that you can just plug it directly into your smartphone and record using something like the voice memos app or any other voice recorder application. The only thing is that the audio quality tends to be a little bit better when using a real voice recorder, something like the zoom h1, right now I actually have this mic directly plugged into my mobile than if you were just using it with your smartphone. One of the advantages of using a lavalier microphone with something like your smartphone or a voice recorder like the zoom h1 is that you won’t be tethered to anything like you would be with a USB microphone, so you’ll be free to walk around, you won’t get tangled up in any cables or anything like that, and that’s really good for run-and-gun setups. This mic also comes with a few extras, so you get this nice zipper pouch to carry it around in, it also comes with a 79 inch extension cable, a 4 to 3 pin adapter, and two extra wind muffs. Next up we have the Logitech Z200 desktop speakers which are the speakers right behind me on my desk. Now I bought these speakers over 2 years ago and still haven’t felt the need to upgrade. They have fantastical-around sound quality, they can get very loud and fill an entire room if you need them to, and I think they look pretty good. You can control volume at anarm’s reach with the big volume wheel right on the front of the right speaker. There’s also a tone dial on the side so you can manually adjust the amount of bass you want. I really like how there’s a headphone jack built right into the speakers, it’s just much easier to plug headphones right into this than the actual computer. But there’s also an audio input jack right next to the headphone jack, so if you want to play something from your phone, for example, you can just use an aux cable to do that. So its just for $23 I think it would be difficult to find a better pair of desktop speakers. So we’ve covered desktop speakers but what about a budget portable Bluetooth speaker? Well, I think the Anker Sound Core is one of the best, if not the best, Bluetooth speaker out there for under $25. The design is pretty nice with a mostly rubberized exterior and metal front grille and the form factor is pretty similar to most other Bluetooth speakers. All your controls are right on top, really nothing too fancy about that, and you have a 3.5 millimetre aux input on the side as well as a micro USB charging port and a microphone for phone calls. One thing I love about this speaker is the battery life. This has one of the longest lasting batteries out of any Bluetooth speaker I’ve ever tested. I use this as my primary desktop speaker in college because I didn’t want to bring the Z200 speakers, those would just take up too much room on my desk, but the battery life on this thing would last something like 2 weeks before I would have to charge it again, and I probably used it about an hour every day. The sound quality is pretty good, it’snot amazing when you compare it side-by-side with a much more expensive Bluetooth speaker like the Bose Sound link Mini, it’s a little weaker onthe bass, but for the price, I think it’s pretty good. So for just $27 , this is a great option if you’re looking for a solid budget Bluetooth speaker.
So this next piece of tech is something that I cant review on my Blog, but I think it’s pretty cool and I wanted to share it with you guys, and this is a Bluetooth smart scale from Renpho. This is a scale that syncs its data with your smartphone every time you stand on it.So I bought one of these back in October when I started going to the gym and I just wanted to see if my weight was changing at all. All you need to do to record your measurements is step on the scale with the corresponding app on your phone open and it records everything for you automatically, and not just your weight, but it also measures things like your body fat percentage, water percentage, muscle mass, and more. Now the accuracy of these other categories is somewhat questionable, I wouldn’t consider it foolproof, but there are some users who have compared this scale to very expensive measurement products and the results are surprisingly similar.I showed this scale to a few of my friends at college and some of them actually decided to pick one up, and within the app, there’s this feature where you can share your data with your friends just to kind of keep track of your goals, and it’s kind of like a built-in accountability system, so that’s pretty cool, but one of my friends ended up actually losing over 30 pounds using this scale. Now, obviously it’s not the scale that’s gonna make you change your body composition, that comes much more from hard work and making healthy choices, but it can be encouraging to see this graph of your results over time. So whether you’re looking to lose weight, gainmuscle or just keep track of your weigh,t this scale is a simple, affordable tool that can help you stay on track. And the last item I want to tell you all is this IMDEM Bluetooth FM transmitter for your car. For all you people out there like me who drive older cars without the built-in Bluetooth options, this is must-have. It takes the Bluetooth connection from your phone and allows you to play things through your stereo in your car using an FM radio signal. It sounds complicated but it’s really super simple, you just plug it in, connect it to your phone through Bluetooth, choose a signal frequency, and go to that station on your radio. I’ve used plenty of these FM transmitters in the past but I like this one best for a few reasons.First, the signal is excellent, it transmits the sound more clearly and louder than any of the other transmitters that I’ve tested. Second, the design is great, it’s small and well-built, and when you plug it into your car, it almost looks like it’s designed to be there. Third, it has a few additional features that are really nice. For example, the quick charge 3.0 port will give you optimal charging speeds, and there’s another USB port that can be used for both charging and playing music if you plug in a USB drive that has mp3 files on it. It also has a few buttons for music control, so you can pause, play, and skip forwards or backwards, and the pause button doubles as a button to answer phone calls, which is nice if you don’t want to be distracted by your phone while driving. So for just $17 this is a no-brainer for someone who doesn’t already have Bluetooth compatibility built into their car. So there you guys have it, those are 5 pieces of tech under $30 that you can purchase from Amazon right now.
